For four decades, Peace Trust has worked to empower children, women, and marginalized communities in Tamil Nadu, India, and beyond. As a leading non-profit with consultative status at the UN ECOSOC and a proud member of NITI Aayog’s CSO Standing Committee, we deliver sustainable solutions for child rights, gender equity, safe livelihoods, and community well-being.

- Child Rights & Education
- Rescued hundreds of children from hazardous labour.
- Prevented child marriages and re-enrolled rescued children in school.
- Formed over 300 Adolescent Groups for life skills, health, and leadership.
- 362,004 people pledged to end child marriage thanks to our campaigns.
- Women’s Empowerment
- Over 1,000 women trained since 1998 in crafts, tailoring, and micro-entrepreneurship.
- Ongoing handicraft production employing over 30 women, with goods marketed locally and internationally.
- Women’s self-help groups access microloans, new skills, and community leadership roles.
- Labour Rights
- Worker Support Groups (WSGs) in 70+ villages and 40+ factories advocate for fair wages, safe conditions, and social security.
- 56 internal committees address workplace harassment in the textile sector.
- Livelihoods & Skill Training
- Peace Private ITI and Industrial School provide government-certified skills training in trades such as electrical work, computer applications, tailoring, and mechanics.
- 100% job placement for many graduates, with entrepreneurship support for rural youth and rescued workers.
- Community Development
- 70+ Community Support Groups solve local issues—from school dropouts and infrastructure to public health and clean water.
- Federations link with local government for greater impact.
- Access to Justice
- Stopped 360+ child marriages and supported over 111 cases of child sexual abuse.
- Ongoing collaboration with the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation on justice and community protection for vulnerable youth.
- Health & Sustainability
- Health camps, vaccination drives, and ongoing mental health support reached over 2,000 people last year.
- Pasumai Community Radio and TV: Broadcasting climate action, health, and rights topics to rural listeners/viewers.
